Daniela Medina Poch gives experimental lectures, coordinates programs, and embodies gestures that sometimes evolve into research frameworks or collective platforms. She often collaborates with waters, wild plants, and soils across diverse ecosystems, primarily in Abya Yala and Europe, weaving alliances with them.
The softness of wool is woven with the roughness of rural life in Garzón, Uruguay. There, sheep move among thistles, snakes, and other beings. Many labour tasks and symbiotic relationships exist in the countryside, unknown to many.Sheep are also accomplices in Sustaining Softness among Thistles and Snakes and their unruly felt. This flock of pieces follows and deviates from usual production techniques to welcome gestures, (un)spoken stories, symbiotic knots, and shapes that express the weedy desires of materials. They whisper that softness, too, can become a tool of subversion.
